Iran issues evacuation warning for major UAE ports

Iran has issued an evacuation warning for areas around several major ports in the United Arab Emirates, saying that US forces used facilities there to launch strikes on Iran’s oil infrastructure.

According to Associated Press, Tehran urged civilians to leave areas around three key ports, including the region’s largest container hub, Jebel Ali Port in Dubai. The warning also covered Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah Port on the UAE’s eastern coast.

Iran accused the United States of using “ports, docks and hideouts” in the UAE to carry out attacks on Kharg Island, a critical hub for Iranian oil exports.

Hours after the warning, there were no confirmed strikes on Jebel Ali or Khalifa ports.

However, images circulating online showed a fire at an oil facility near Fujairah. The blaze appeared to have been caused by debris from an intercepted Iranian drone that fell onto the site.
