Israeli attacks kill, wound nearly 60 children over the past week, despite truce deal
Onoging Israeli attacks across Lebanon have killed and wounded at least 59 children over the past week, despite a ceasefire that came into effect in April.
In a press release on Wednesday, Unicef indicated that children in the country "continue to be at the sharp end of ongoing violence, displacement and exposure to traumatic events".
Over 23 children have been killed since the ceasefire in 17 April, with 93 others injured during the same period.
Since early March, a total of 200 children have been killed and 806 others have been injured.
βChildren are being killed and injured when they should be returning to classrooms, playing with friends, and recovering from months of fear and upheaval,β said the agency's Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Edouard Beigbeder.
