Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Entebbe on Wednesday for talks focused on East African security, Nile Basin cooperation and regional water resources management. According to a joint Egyptian-Ugandan statement, the two leaders discussed developments related to the Nile Basin Initiative and efforts to bridge differences over the Nile Basin Framework Agreement, also known as the Entebbe Agreement. Uganda is among the Nile Basin states that signed the agreement, while Egypt and Sudan continue to oppose aspects of it.
