The first vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla set sail on Thursday from the Turkish Mediterranean port of Marmaris in a new attempt to break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip. The convoy includes 54 ships and more than 500 international activists and supporters, organisers said. Heavy activity was seen along the Marmaris coast before departure, with participating vessels lining up in the port before heading into the Mediterranean Sea.
