Israel says it targeted senior Hamas military leader in Gaza

Israel said it carried out a strike in Gaza targeting Izz al-Din al-Haddad, whom it described as the most senior Hamas military leader remaining in the Gaza Strip.

There was no immediate information on al-Haddad’s condition, and Hamas has not commented on the claim.

Israel has accused al-Haddad of being one of the “architects” of the Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel on 7 October 2023 and placed him on its most-wanted list.
