UAE condemns drone strike near nuclear plant as ‘dangerous escalation’

The United Arab Emirates has condemned the drone strike that sparked a fire near the Barakah nuclear power plant in the west of the country, without assigning responsibility.

The Foreign Ministry described the incident as a “dangerous escalation” and an “unacceptable act of aggression” that poses a direct threat to national security.

It added that “no threat to security and sovereignty will be tolerated, regardless of the circumstances.”
