Israeli strike in eastern Lebanon kills Islamic Jihad leader, daughter

The National News Agency reported early Monday that an Israeli missile strike near Baalbek in eastern Lebanon killed a leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad and his daughter.

The strike reportedly targeted an apartment housing a Palestinian family on the outskirts of the city.

The attack came amid continuing Israeli operations despite a fragile ceasefire agreement announced on 17 April and extended on Friday for another 45 days through early July.
