Israeli strike hits Beirut’s southern suburbs

An Israeli air strike hit Beirut’s southern suburbs late on Sunday, Lebanese media reported.

The attack followed an evacuation warning issued earlier in the day by the Israeli military for several neighbourhoods in the area.

AFP correspondents in the Lebanese capital reported hearing a loud explosion as the strike hit the district, a stronghold of Hezbollah that Israel has repeatedly targeted since it started its war on Lebanon.
