Iran, Oman discuss Hormuz Strait toll system despite Trump threats

Iran and Oman - a US ally - have held talks over partnering in a system charging fees for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, despite Donald Trump warnings against payments to navigate waterway.

The Trump administration has condemned the possibility of Iranian tolls on the waterway, with Trump on Thursday saying: "We want it free... We don’t want tolls. It’s international. It’s an international waterway."
