Video: Thousands gather in London for annual Al-Quds Day rally

People gathered in central London for the annual Al-Quds Day protest, an event held worldwide on the last Friday of Ramadan in solidarity with Palestinians and opposition to Israel’s illegal rule over Jerusalem.

The day was established in 1979 and has been marked in London for more than four decades.

Police attempted to disrupt this year’s event by imposing restrictions, deploying a large presence and arresting several participants during the demonstration.

It is not yet known whether the police move was carried out independently or under pressure from pro-Israel lobbying groups.
