WSJ: Trump has not ruled out strikes on Iran if talks fail

US President Donald Trump told aides during a meeting on Friday that he wanted to give diplomacy more time as negotiations with Iran continue, The Wall Street Journal reported, quoting US officials. 

The report said Trump remains interested in pursuing a negotiated outcome despite ongoing tensions.

At the same time, Trump has not completely ruled out military action if talks fail to produce a breakthrough, the officials said.

According to the report, the president remains undecided but is currently leaning toward allowing diplomatic efforts to continue while keeping military options available.
