Russia questions US assessment of Iran peace negotiations
Russia’s envoy to international organisations in Geneva, Mikhail Ulyanov, said Iran’s assessment of ongoing talks to end the war is likely closer to reality than that of the United States.
In comments posted on X, Ulyanov suggested Washington had portrayed greater progress in the negotiations than actually exists.
“Iranian assessments are closer to actual state of affairs,” Ulyanov wrote. He added that US messaging on the negotiations at this stage was “less responsible”, reflecting Moscow’s scepticism about claims of significant diplomatic progress.
