Israeli strike kills five Gaza police officers

Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip killed five police officers on Saturday, according to the enclave’s police department.

The strikes targeted a police checkpoint in northwestern Gaza, in the latest in a series of escalating attacks on police and civil workers since the October ceasefire.

Palestinians accuse Israel of attempting to create chaos and a security vacuum in Gaza by targeting the police force.
