Israeli media says hit on residential building in Gaza an assassination attempt

An Israeli bombing of a residential building in al-Rimal neighbourhood, west of Gaza City, resulted in the killing of three and wounding of over 20 others. 

According to Israeli reports, the attack was an attempt at assassinating the new commander of Hamas' military wing, Mohammed Odeh, who succeeded Izz al-Din al-Haddad.

Haddad was killed alongside his wife, daughter and other Palestinian civilians in an Israeli strike nearly two weeks ago in a breach of the ceasefire agreement.
