White House says Iran report on draft deal ‘complete fabrication’

The White House said on Wednesday that the report from Iranian state TV describing a draft of an initial, unofficial framework for a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran was “not true” and “a complete fabrication”.

Iranian media reported earlier on Wednesday that the US draft proposal included an offer for Iran to allow commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz to return to pre-war levels in exchange for the US ending its naval blockade and withdrawing troops from the vicinity of Iran.
