Iran sources say Trump remarks on deal are 'mixture of truth and lies'

Iranian sources have pushed back against comments by US President Donald Trump on a potential agreement, calling his remarks inaccurate.

State-affiliated Fars News Agency cited informed sources as saying that Trump’s statements on the proposed deal amounted to a "mixture of truth and lies".

The agency said Trump had suggested Iran would be required to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without tolls, adding that “no such clause appears in the text of the agreement”.

It also rejected his claim that Washington and Tehran would coordinate the destruction of Iran’s enriched uranium.

“Well-informed sources emphasised that not only does this not appear in the memorandum of understanding, but this claim is fundamentally baseless,” the report said.
