A senior leader of Yemen’s Houthi group on Tuesday threatened Israel with a “major and comprehensive” response if it continues its violations and military escalation in Lebanon. The remarks were made by Mohammed Al-Farah, a member of the group’s political bureau, according to the Houthi-run Al Masirah television channel. In late March, the Houthis joined the confrontation in support of Iran during the war involving Israel and the United States against Tehran, as well as in response to Israeli attacks in Lebanon. The Israeli military has continued what Lebanon describes as deadly violations of the fragile ceasefire agreement, while a fourth round of talks between Beirut and Tel Aviv remains under way in Washington.
