WFP: One-quarter of Lebanon’s population facing acute food insecurity

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) has warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis in Lebanon, nearly three months after the outbreak of the conflict. The agency said more than one million people remain displaced, while food insecurity continues to rise due to higher prices, loss of income and growing pressure on markets. In a statement carried by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), the WFP said it had provided emergency food and cash assistance to more than 700,000 conflict-affected people across Lebanon since 2nd March.
