Lebanon hospital vows to ‘carry on’ after Israeli attack
A day after a deadly Israeli strike that caused extensive damage to Tyre’s Jabal Amel hospital, medical staff say they “will carry on”.
"Despite all the damage and all the destruction, we shall carry on. We were continuing before the strike, because it is our duty, and now after the strike our duty is even bigger to continue our job," says Hussein Qassir, head of the hospital’s intensive care unit, which sustained the most damage in the strike.
Since 2 March, when full-scale war between Hezbollah and Israel resumed, Israel has targeted and damaged 17 Lebanese hospitals and killed at least 128 rescuers and medical personnel.
