UAE invites citizens and residents to pledge allegiance to president

The United Arab Emirates has launched a nationwide campaign inviting citizens and residents to sign an online pledge of loyalty and allegiance to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The “Pledge and Commitment” initiative was launched by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE’s minister of tolerance and coexistence, and later opened to the public through a dedicated website. According to UAE media, the campaign began at an event in Abu Dhabi attended by more than 4,800 people, including citizens, residents, students, investors, academics, business leaders and community representatives.
