US approves potential $1.98bn counter-drone sale to Kuwait
The US State Department has approved a potential foreign military sale of counter-unmanned aerial systems platforms and related equipment to Kuwait, in a deal estimated to be worth $1.98 billion.
In a statement, the department said the proposed sale supports US foreign policy and national security objectives by strengthening the security of Kuwait, which it described as a major non-Nato ally in the Middle East.
The package is intended to enhance Kuwaitβs ability to counter drone threats and improve regional defence capabilities.
