Vigil in Glasgow honours Palestinian footballers killed in Gaza
Red Card Glasgow held a vigil outside Hampden Park Stadium on Friday to remember Palestinian footballers killed during Israel’s war on Gaza.
The event took place at the main entrance of Scotland’s national stadium while Scotland’s women’s national team played Israel in Hungary behind closed doors.
Video released by the group showed participants laying wreaths and displaying football shirts and Palestinian scarves in tribute to the Palestinian players who were killed.
Organisers said the gathering was intended to honour the memory of Palestinian footballers and draw attention to the impact of the conflict on the sporting community.
Thank you to those who attended our vigil for the murdered Palestinian footballers.
