Israel says missile launched from Yemen intercepted

The Israeli military said it detected the launch of a missile from Yemen towards Israeli territory and activated air defence systems to intercept the threat.

The Israeli Home Front Command issued early warnings for residents in central and southern Israel, with sirens sounding across the greater Tel Aviv area after the missile was detected.

Israeli media reported that the missile was successfully intercepted, while Channel 12 said airspace was temporarily closed during the incident before normal operations resumed.
