US issues security alert in Jordan over reports of projectiles

The US State Department has issued a security alert for American citizens in Jordan, warning of reports that missiles, drones or rockets were present in the country’s airspace.

In a statement posted on X, the department advised people to “seek overhead cover and shelter in place immediately”, remain indoors and follow local safety announcements.

The alert came amid renewed regional tensions following the latest exchanges between Iran and Israel, raising concerns that the conflict could have wider implications across neighbouring countries.
