Israeli air strikes continue in southern Lebanon

Israeli air strikes targeting areas around Tyre in Lebanon have continued into early Tuesday morning.

At least eight people have been killed after an Israeli air strike on a housing area in the city of Tyre, the civil defence in southern Lebanon told Al Jazeera Arabic.

Separate air strikes targeting various villages in the neighbouring Nabatieh region killed at least five additional people, according to Lebanese state media.

Among those casualties was a 16-year-old boy, who officials reported was killed by an Israeli drone strike outside his home.

The attacks come shortly after the Israeli military issued forced displacement orders for the city of Tyre.
