Amnesty International has accused the Israeli government of turning the annexation of the occupied West Bank into an officially declared political objective, warning of what it described as an escalating campaign of forced displacement against Palestinians. In a report released on Tuesday, the human rights organisation said Israeli authorities have intensified measures over the past three and a half years aimed at removing Palestinians from their land, confiscating property and expanding Israeli control over parts of the occupied territory.
