US confirms it disabled third tanker off Oman this week

The US military said on Thursday it had disabled a third oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman overnight as it โ€œviolated the blockade against Iran by attempting to transport Iranian oil.โ€

This was the third commercial ship disabled by US forces off Oman this week, Centcom said in a post on X.

โ€œU.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) acted against Guinea-Bissau flagged M/T Jalveer as it attempted to transport oil from Iran through the Gulf of Oman. A U.S. aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles into the shipโ€™s engine room after the crew repeatedly failed to comply with directions from U.S. forces.โ€

It also confirmed that the Palau-flagged vessels Marivex and Settebello were disabled on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
