Switzerland offers to host possible US-Iran MoU signing

Switzerland says it is ready to host the possible signing of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran, as diplomatic efforts continue to pull the region back from further confrontation.

The Swiss foreign ministry told AFP it would host the signing, “should the parties agree to it”.

“Switzerland is fully engaged. We are in close contact with the United States and Iran,” the ministry said in a brief statement.

It added that Bern was playing an active role “to support efforts toward a Memorandum of Understanding intended to consolidate the truce and pave the way for de-escalation in the context of the conflict between Iran and the USA”.
