Canada announced $100 million Friday in additional humanitarian assistance for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Anadolu reports. The funding, announced by Foreign Minister Anita Anand in Paris, will be delivered through UN agencies, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and nongovernmental organizations providing assistance on the ground. Anand made the announcement at the Paris Call for the Two-State Solution conference, where leaders gathered to discuss challenges in achieving a future two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
