Egypt has warned that the ongoing regional war must not divert attention from the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, urging renewed focus on relief and reconstruction efforts. Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty made the remarks during a meeting on Tuesday with Zhai Jun, China’s special envoy to the Middle East, who is visiting Cairo as part of a regional tour, according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
