Israeli PM's office says operations in Lebanon will continue
Israel has signalled that it intends to continue military operations in southern Lebanon despite ongoing ceasefire efforts and diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing hostilities.
In a statement posted on social media, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli military would "continue to act with determination in order to neutralize threats against our soldiers and our citizens, demolish terrorist infrastructure, and maintain the security zone in southern Lebanon".
The comments come amid continuing debate over the implementation of ceasefire arrangements and ongoing negotiations concerning security and military deployments in southern Lebanon.
