Gaza’s Ministry of Social Development has warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis, saying the territory is experiencing a “silent famine” amid a sharp decline in the flow of humanitarian assistance. Aziza al-Kahlout, spokesperson for the ministry, said on Tuesday that living conditions across the Gaza Strip have deteriorated significantly as aid deliveries continue to fall well below projected needs. “The Gaza Strip is going through a critical phase,” al-Kahlout said, describing the situation as a “silent famine” that is gradually spreading across the territory.
