Israeli media: Israel’s ‘goal from the start’ was leading Lebanon into civil war
An analyst on Israel’s Channel 13 said during a broadcast that Israel was “leading Lebanon to a civil war”, calling it Israel’s “goal from the start”.
“It seems we’re leading Lebanon to a civil war. Maybe it’s not so bad for us, let the Lebanese government fight Hezbollah,” the analyst said.
The remarks came as protests broke out in Beirut on Friday evening following the signing of a US-brokered deal between Israel and Lebanon that puts the Lebanese Armed Forces in charge of disarming Hezbollah in the south.
