Lebanon says Trump backed ceasefire deal in call with Lebanese president

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun says US President Donald Trump has reaffirmed Washington’s support for a Lebanon-Israel ceasefire agreement.

In a statement posted on X, the Lebanese presidency said Aoun received a phone call from Trump on Friday night.

It said Trump welcomed the signing of a trilateral agreement and voiced support for efforts to uphold the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.

The call comes as Lebanon faces continued pressure over the deal, which aims to halt Israeli attacks and ease tensions along the border.
