Report: Pentagon seeks $200 billion for war with Iran

The Pentagon is seeking more than $200 billion to fund the war with Iran, according to a report by The Washington Post citing a senior US administration official.

The report said White House officials are sceptical that Congress will approve the request.

The newspaper also said the cost of the conflict rose sharply in its early days, exceeding $11 billion in the first week alone.
