Centcom: 10 Iranian military targets in and near Hormuz struck
US navy and air force fighter jets struck 10 Iranian military targets overnight at multiple locations in and near the Strait of Hormuz for Iran's drone attack on M/T Kiku, the US military said.
US Central Command (Centcom) also released a grainy, black-and-white video on social media, showing some of the strikes.
Centcom earlier said Iran launched a one-way attack drone that struck the Panama-flagged tanker M/T Kiku while it was transiting near the strategic waterway carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil.
In response, US aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defence sites, drone storage facilities and minelaying capabilities.
Centcom said commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz continues and that US forces remain "vigilant, lethal, and ready".
