Hezbollah says framework agreement will not be implemented, insists on keeping its weapons

Lebanese MP Hassan Fadlallah, a member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, said the group will continue to hold on to its weapons, describing them as essential for protecting and defending Lebanon. He also said what he called the “agreement of humiliation and disgrace” signed by the Lebanese authorities with Israel “will not be implemented”, accusing the government of surrendering national sovereignty and bowing to foreign pressure. Fadlallah delivered the remarks during a memorial ceremony organised by Hezbollah for Ali Al-Rida Haidar Faqih at Al-Sayyida Al-Zahra Hall in Ain Al-Delbeh, located in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
