Lebanese security official, Unifil head meet in Lebanon

A senior Lebanese security official met with the head of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) on Thursday to discuss the security situation on Lebanon’s southern border.

Unifil’s mandate is set to finish at the end of 2026 after 48 years of peacekeeping in the region, and has been attacked by both the Israelis and Lebanese for various perceived failures.
