The UAE’s diplomatic adviser Anwar Gargash has said that the ongoing conflict with Iran is bringing Gulf states closer to the United States and Israel, following recent Iranian missile attacks on the region. Gargash said Iran had “miscalculated” by targeting the UAE and other Gulf countries, arguing that the attacks had strengthened regional alignment with Washington and Tel Aviv. “Iran miscalculated by attacking the UAE and other Gulf states, which has pushed it closer to Israel and the United States,” he said, adding that the developments underscore concerns over Iran’s nuclear and missile programmes.
