Bahrain sounds siren, Qatar raises 'security threat level'
Bahrain's Ministry of Interior said a siren had been sounded and urged residents to "remain calm and head to the nearest safe place".
The announcement came after the US struck dozens of targets across several Iranian cities following a missile strike by the IRGC Navy on a Cyprus-flagged ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
Qatar’s ministry of interior, meawhile, announced that the country’s security threat level is high and called on people to follow safety instructions and remain inside their homes or in safe places.
In the past, Iran has responded to US strikes by targeting what it describes as American military assets in Gulf states with missiles and drones. Bahrain hosts a major US naval base, while Qatar hosts the largest US military facility in the Middle East.
