Qatar backs Saudi Arabia after missile attack by Houthis

Qatar has strongly condemned a missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s southern region, describing it as a violation of the kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a threat to regional security.

In a statement, Qatar’s foreign ministry reiterated its full support for Saudi Arabia and stressed that attacks targeting the kingdom undermine stability in the Gulf.

"The State of Qatar strongly condemns the Houthi group's targeting of the southern region in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles," the statement said.

The ministry also condemned the targeting of two Emirati oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a serious violation of maritime safety and international law.
