Iranian official accuses US of ‘threatening’ ICC members

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi has accused the US of “threatening” the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) member states to undermine their investigation of the US and Israel for their attacks on Iran.

Gharibabadi said on Tuesday that the US was using “sanctions, visa cancellations, and political pressure to halt their cooperation with the court”.

This follows comments from the US government on Monday saying that it would “systematically disable” the court, after it had already placed sanctions and travel bans on 11 ICC officials, including the chief prosecutor.
