Lebanese education minister says Israel destroys three more schools

The Israeli military has looted and destroyed three schools in southern Lebanon, Rima Karami, the country’s education and higher education minister, said in a statement carried by Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) on Friday.

This brings the number of Lebanese schools destroyed in Israeli strikes to 20. Unesco said last month that 17 schools have been destroyed and more than 100 damaged in Lebanon since Israel launched its military campaign.

About 500,000 Lebanese children remain out of school because of the conflict, according to UNESCO.
