Kuwait summons Iranian ambassador due to attack on Kuwaiti tanker

The Kuwaiti deputy foreign minister Hamad al-Mashan summoned the Iranian ambassador Mohammad Totonji and presented him with a protest note due to Iran's targeting of a Kuwaiti tanker while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the ministry announced in an official statement.

The attack injured several crew members, according to the statement.
