About 1,300 Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque compound

Approximately 1,300 Israeli settlers, accompanied by Israeli forces, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound early on Thursday, the Jerusalem Governorate reported. 

The storming took place on Tisha B'Av, a holiday which commemorates the destruction of the two Jewish temples and the exile of Jewish people.

Israeli forces imposed tight restrictions Jerusalemโ€™s Old City, preventing Palestinians from entering the mosque and restricting them from its surroundings.
