Amnesty International has warned that the conditions faced by Palestinian women and girls in the Gaza Strip represent one of the most severe forms of discrimination and violence against women amid the ongoing war and the collapse of healthcare services. In a statement, the organisation said Israeli attacks and the widespread destruction of infrastructure have severely affected essential healthcare systems, particularly services related to reproductive health. Amnesty cited findings by a United Nations Commission of Inquiry, which concluded in March 2025 that Israel had systematically used sexual, reproductive and other forms of gender-based violence against Palestinians.
