Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the United States and Israel would bear responsibility for any further escalation in the region. It said what it described as a US-Israeli military attack on Iran had created a dangerous situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The ministry added that shipping through the Strait has not been fully halted, but is continuing under special measures that take into account current conditions. “We are following a responsible approach to avoid exposing international navigation to additional risks,” it said.
