US embassy in Lebanon offers help to Americans seeking to leave region

The United States Embassy in Lebanon has said it is ready to assist American citizens who wish to leave the region. In a statement, the embassy said it is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and urged US citizens “to make personal safety decisions based on the evolving situation.” In a post on the social media platform X, the embassy addressed the American citizens by saying, “the US government is ready to assist by providing you the latest information about the departure options available.”     The embassy added: “Commercial flights are currently offered by Middle East Airlines , operating out of Beirut Rafic Hariri airport.  Americans should strongly consider departing on one of these flights if they believe it is safe to do […]
