War on Iran 'catastrophe' for global economy, German defence minster says
Germany’s defence minster described the war on Iran as a "catastrophe for the world’s economies", noting that its impact has already become evident.
Speaking to reporters at the Australian Parliament House in Canberra, Boris Pistorius said European countries were not consulted on the conflict since the start.
"Nobody asked us before. It’s not our war, and therefore we don’t want to get sucked into that war, to make it crystal clear," he said, adding that a diplomatic solution and ceasefire is needed urgently.
He further urged that the US and Iran put an end to the exchange of attacks.
