Report: Trump wants to avoid prolonged war in Iran

US President Donald Trump has told associates in recent days that he wants to avoid a prolonged war in Iran, The Wall Street Journal reported. 

He said he hoped to bring the conflict to an end in the coming weeks, and has privately informed advisors he thinks the war is in its final stages.
